Policies, Terms & Agreements

This Policies, Terms, and Agreements (“Agreement”) is entered into between Inter Utah Youth Soccer Club (“the Club”) and the registered player and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) (“Participant”).

Player Registration & Participation Agreement

By registering with Inter Utah SC, the player and parent/guardian agree to the following:

  • The player will abide by all club rules, policies, and codes of conduct.

  • Participation in soccer includes inherent risks of injury; families accept these risks.

  • Team placement is determined at the sole discretion of the club based on evaluations, development, and team needs.

  • Playing time is not guaranteed unless explicitly stated in a specific program.

  • Players are expected to attend scheduled trainings, games, and club events.

  • Families agree to fulfill all financial obligations associated with participation.

  • The club reserves the right to release or reassign any player based on conduct, commitment, or non-compliance.

Liability Waiver & Medical Release

  • I/We acknowledge that participation in soccer involves physical activity and risk of injury.

  • I/We release Inter Utah SC, its staff, coaches, and affiliates from liability for injuries sustained during participation, except in cases of gross negligence.

  • I/We authorize club staff to seek emergency medical treatment for the player if necessary.

  • I/We confirm that all medical information provided is accurate and up to date.

  • I/We understand it is our responsibility to maintain appropriate medical insurance coverage.

Code of Conduct

Players agree to:

  • Show respect to teammates, coaches, referees, and opponents.

  • Demonstrate sportsmanship at all times.

  • Refrain from abusive language, bullying, or unsportsmanlike behavior.

  • Attend practices and games consistently and arrive on time.

  • Follow coaching instructions and give full effort.

Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct

Parents/guardians agree to:

  • Support all players and refrain from negative sideline behavior.

  • Not coach from the sidelines during games or training.

  • Respect referees, coaches, and club officials.

  • Address concerns through proper communication channels—not during games.

  • Promote a positive environment for all participants.

Coach Code of Conduct

Coaches agree to:

  • Prioritize player development, safety, and well-being.

  • Treat all players with respect and fairness.

  • Provide a positive and constructive learning environment.

  • Follow all safeguarding and safety policies.

  • Communicate professionally with players and families.

Playing Time & Team Selection Policy

  • Team placement is based on evaluations, skill level, attitude, and commitment.

  • Movement between teams may occur throughout the season at the club’s discretion.

  • Playing time policies:

    • Recreational/Development Programs: Equal or near-equal playing time.

    • Competitive Programs: Playing time is earned based on performance, effort, and team needs.

  • Coaches are not required to justify playing time decisions during or immediately after games.

  • Player development is prioritized over short-term results.

Safety & Safeguarding Policy

  • All coaches and staff must complete background checks and required safeguarding training (e.g., SafeSport).

  • The club follows a two-adult rule whenever possible to prevent isolated one-on-one situations.

  • Physical contact must always be appropriate and instructional.

  • The club enforces strict anti-harassment and anti-abuse standards.

  • Any concerns or incidents must be reported immediately to club leadership.

  • Concussion protocols and injury management guidelines will be followed.

Financial Agreement

  • Registration fees must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule.

  • Additional costs may include uniforms, tournament fees, and travel expenses.

  • Late payments may result in suspension from participation.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Non-refundable deposit upon acceptance.

    • Partial refunds may be considered at the club’s discretion in exceptional cases.

  • Unpaid balances may result in removal from the club.

Travel & Tournament Policy

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation unless otherwise arranged.

  • Players must adhere to club conduct standards during all travel events.

  • For overnight travel:

    • Rooming assignments may be supervised by approved adults.

    • Players must follow curfews and behavioral expectations.

  • The club is not responsible for non-team-related activities during travel.

  • Emergency contact information must be provided before travel.

Media & Image Release

  • I/We grant Inter Utah SC permission to use photos and videos of the player for promotional purposes.

  • Media may be used on:

  • Club website

  • Social media platforms

  • Marketing materials

  • No compensation will be provided for such use.

  • Families may request limited restrictions in writing (subject to approval).

Communication Policy

  • Official communication channels may include email, club apps, or designated platforms.

  • Coaches are the first point of contact for team-related questions.

  • Club directors handle escalated concerns.

  • A 24-hour rule is encouraged before addressing concerns after games.

  • No confrontations with coaches or referees during or immediately after games.

Disciplinary Policy

  • The club uses a progressive discipline approach:

  • Verbal warning

  • Written warning

  • Suspension from training/games

  • Removal from team or club

 

Immediate disciplinary action (including suspension or removal) may occur for:

  • Violent behavior

  • Harassment or discrimination

  • Repeated misconduct

  • Serious violations of club policies

Release / Termination Policy

The club reserves the right to suspend or remove a player for:

  • Failure to meet financial obligations

  • Repeated violations of conduct policies

  • Disruptive or harmful behavior

  • Lack of commitment or attendance

No refunds will be issued in cases of disciplinary removal.
